This week inside the Lab, we chat with William A. Howard, CFP®
Bill is a native Floridian born and raised in Central Florida. After
graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Finance, he
started his career with SunTrust Banks. As the Private Banking field was
launching, Bill became one of the first Private Wealth Client Advisors
with SunTrust in Orlando. Later, Bill became the Senior Vice President
of the Private Wealth Group in Windermere, catering to notable clients
such as Darden Restaurant executives, Walt Disney executives, PGA
professionals and Major League Baseball players.
In 2002, Bill became a Certified Financial Planner TM and relocated from
Orlando to Fort Lauderdale to manage the largest SunTrust Private
Wealth team in South Florida. He led his team to grow assets under
management to over $1 billion dollars and was awarded the
distinguished “Best of the Best” honor.
In 2009, Bill accepted a position with a community bank as Director of
Wealth Management. He oversaw both trust and brokerage services as
a member of the Bank’s Executive Management team.
After a long career in banking, Bill decided to leave and open
BENCHMARK FINANCIAL, an investment advisory practice in Fort
Lauderdale.
